Interesting read from fellow Photographer Scott Bourne which can be found at :
“As expected, the usual cast of Windows fanboys, link-baiters, Apple haters, etc., jumped up screaming about all the things the iPad WON’T do. They talked about all the features it DIDN’T have. And that’s exactly the wrong approach. People NEVER, EVER buy anything because of what it WON’T do – they buy because of what it WILL do. They don’t buy it because of what it DOESN’T HAVE – they buy it because of what it DOES have. If the iPad spit gold bars at its owners and cured cancers, then there’d still be the contingent of haters who would bash it. Don’t let that detour you from checking it out. “

I just got back from a Brides of Texas Bridal show today at Billy Bobs in Fort Worth where brides voted my bridal booth best of the show due to the great fun they had using the SnapzSnapz photo booth. The number one comment was how great ”Live View” was over the competition (the ability to see what the camera sees before the picuture is taken).
Got to say thanks to Mary Galloway from Brides of Texas for the hard work she put into the bridal event.
As usual all that entered made some great creative images, here are a few.
And the rest here
What an October that was! Record lowest number of hours of sunshine resulting in over 8 inches of rain. Rebecca and Jonathan waited it out not giving in to looking for covered porches in the rain holding out for a day at the Dallas Arboretum . What a day it was blue skies and great sunshine. here are a few selects from the session.

Its that time of year again when I put all the weddings from the year back online at IrvinPhotographyOnline.com and offer prints at 40% off as a way to say Thank You for your business during the past year. The email you provided when you sign into a gallery is how I send the notice and is the only time that email is even looked at. So if there was a image you ere waiting to get a print of now is the time the offer expires at the end of December.
Well there was a brief gap in the rain last week and Becky and Taylor took advantage of it as we hit the arts district and then the stockyards for some engagement fun.
Here are a few finished images.

“I grew up in a college town, and one Halloween our doorbell rang and we opened the door expecting to see trickortreaters—but what was in front of our open door—was another door! Like, a full-on wooden door, that had a sign that said “Please knock.” So we did, and the door swung open to reveal a bunch of college dudes dressed as really old grandmothers, curlers in their hair, etc, who proceeded to coo over our “costumes” and tell us we were “such cute trick or treaters!” One even pinched my cheek. Then THEY gave US candy, closed their door, picked it up and walked to the next house.

I like me some fried chicken and that’s just what I had a Babes in Granbury Tx after the bridal session for Amber. Then about a month later I got to go back for Amber and Scott’s great wedding under the big top tents. Now the pressure was on since this wedding was for the daughter of wedding coordinator extraordinaire Peggy Villagomez of Dream come True Weddings. Not wanting to fuss about on the big day Peggy brought in Lucia Bitnar of Foster Blue & Company took care of all the days details.
Here are a few finished images from the day.

Jessica and Marcelo had a wonderful event recently at the Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth a while it was a little rainy that didn’t stop them from having a great wedding and reception. IrvinPhotography was there in full force with two photographers covering all the angles. Below are a few favorites.

Well my favorite band came to town this week at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium and it was something I had been planning since March or April.
Step 1 was to join U2.com to get insider ticket purchasing before they went on sale to general public
Step 2 was to buy tickets in the best seats as a back up plan while also bidding for tickets in the RedZone next to stage

U2 is contributing all of their profits from the (RED)ZONE tickets to The Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa

I won the red zone, sold the seats and had a blast Monday with the exception of a rude guy who thought he was going to slide in front of me when they opened up some more rail when the T-shirt sales quit just before U2 took the stage, what a jerk. Wasn’t just me as later he got really threatened by some guys bigger than me.
Anyway played it safe and took my G9 point and shoot for pictures…what do you think?

When talking with your sound professional express that while you want your guests to hear you and your special guy say your vows, you don’t want to sacrifice your photographic coverage. Nothing ruins great alter moments like a giant mic stand this is especially true in locations other than churches where the rules will allow for closer and different images.

Mic stands are bad
